I'm a husband, a father, and a slow learner of the gospel. Learning to Walk with Him is the book I wish someone had handed me on my mission — and the book I'm still trying to live, a little more honestly each year.

The short version

I served a full-time mission as a young man, came home, married my best friend, and started the long, ordinary work of building a life of faith inside a normal week. Most of what I've learned about discipleship I've learned the hard way: in repentance, in prayer at 2am, in the middle of seasons that didn't go to plan.

What I write about

  • Stories from mission and from the years that followed
  • Slow, devotional reading of scripture — Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon
  • The five lessons at the heart of the book — influence, calling, focus, prayer, and the Savior's love
  • Practical disciplines for ordinary disciples: prayer, study, service, rest

Beyond the book

I share short reflections almost daily on Instagram and Facebook — usually a single scripture, a story, or a question worth sitting with. The blog is the longer-form home for the same conversation.

Speaking & firesides

There is something that happens when I am in a room with youth or missionaries. I just find a tremendous amount of joy in it. Teaching, laughing, helping someone feel the Spirit. My whole goal is always to reach the one. If one person is touched by a testimony, a smile, or simply being noticed, then everything we do is worth it.

I am not out here booking a speaking tour. I have a day job and a book that just came out. But if you need someone who will show up early, stay late, and genuinely love being there, send me a message. I would be honored to come.

A note on tone

This is a place for honesty, not pressure. If you've stepped back from faith, you're welcome here. If you're steady and serving, you're welcome here. If you're somewhere in the middle, like most of us, you're especially welcome.
